Let us be clear from the start: we are an agency, not a freelancer. If you landed here looking for an independent, this page will not try to convince you that we are one. It will help you work out which of the two fits your project, because in a fair number of cases the answer is the freelancer, and a badly matched project costs more than the highest quote.
When a freelancer is the right choice
Budget
Under 3,000 €
Below that line an agency cannot do serious work without cutting a corner somewhere. A good independent can.
Scope
One clear, single need
A landing page, a three-page site, the build of a design already drawn. One craft involved, so one person.
Direction
You know what you want
Copy written, images ready, structure clear in your head. You need no one to frame the project, only to build it.
Deadline
Nothing critical hangs on the date
If slipping three weeks puts nothing at risk, one person's availability is not a real exposure.
When an agency is required
Skills
Several crafts at once
Design, development, copy, search, follow-up. Few independents are excellent at all five, and the weak link shows.
Continuity
The site has to last three years
An independent may change track, get overloaded or become unreachable. A company carries an obligation to take over.
Multilingual
Two or three languages to keep
The Luxembourg specificity: the work doubles or triples, and keeping versions consistent takes organisation.
Stakes
The site carries revenue
Booking, quoting, selling. When an outage costs money every day, the question stops being price and becomes response time.
The honest comparison
| Criterion | Freelancer | Agency |
|---|---|---|
| Budget, brochure site | 1,500 to 4,000 € | 3,000 to 6,000 € |
| Range of skills | One or two crafts mastered | Design, build, content, SEO together |
| Availability | Varies with their pipeline | Contracted, with cover |
| Continuity over three years | Rests on one person | Commitment of the company |
| Project management | Often on you | Included in the engagement |
| Response to an outage | Subject to availability | Stated in the contract |
| Point of contact | Single by definition | Single if the agency sets it up that way |
Three projects, three answers
01A sole trader starting out
FreelancerThree pages, one form, a tight budget, copy already written. No reason to pay a company for that. Hire a good independent and keep your budget for later.
02A five-person practice rebuilding its site
DependsIf the content exists and one language is enough, a freelancer will do. If the site has to live in French and English, with online booking and copy to produce, the price gap comes back in the time you do not spend on it.
03A business living off online bookings
AgencyThe day the booking module fails on a Friday evening, the only question that matters is who picks up. That is what you are buying, more than the site itself.
What we do about it
The main charge against agencies is fair: you are sold a contact person and you inherit a chain of three people and a monthly status report. So we built the opposite. You talk directly to the people building your site, from the first call to launch. No project manager relaying messages, no hidden subcontracting.
- One contact, who actually works on the project.
- An itemised quote, with no opaque package: you see what you pay for and what you can drop.
- Stated deadlines, and the dates we need your input, fixed in the proposal.
- The site is yours, code and access included. Leaving stays possible at any time.
- A straight answer if your project is not for us. We say so, and we say it early.
Twenty minutes to find out which of the two suits you
Describe your project. You leave with a clear direction, even when it does not point our way.
Talk it throughFrequently asked questions
On the quote, almost always. Over time it depends on what you have to do yourself: framing, writing, chasing, coordinating. That time has a cost, it simply appears on no invoice. Compare identical scopes, not headline figures.
That is the main exposure of the model. It shrinks a lot under three conditions: the code and the accounts are in your name, the technology is mainstream, and you hold a recent backup. Demand those three in writing, whoever the supplier is.
Occasionally, on specific skills such as photography or translation, and always openly. Development and design stay in-house: that is where the continuity we promise you is decided.
Yes, provided the access and the code are available. We start with an audit and say honestly whether the base can be carried forward or whether starting again is wiser. Both answers come up about as often.
That is a third route, cheaper again, fine for a very simple site if you accept spending time on it and living with the tool's limits. It becomes expensive as soon as search, performance or multiple languages genuinely matter.
Let us talk about your project
A 30-minute call is enough to define the scope, the budget and the schedule. You leave with a written estimate, no strings attached.
Based in Luxembourg, we work across the whole Grand Duchy.
