Launch is not the end of the project. The software running the site publishes patches, certificates expire, forms stop sending their messages without telling anyone, and pages slow down as content piles up. None of it shows from the outside, until the day a customer tells you the site has been displaying an error for a week.
What maintenance covers
- Updates to the CMS, theme, plugins and dependencies, applied first to a copy of the site, then to production.
- Daily backups, kept off the server and actually restored at regular intervals. A backup that has never been tested is not a backup.
- Uptime monitoring. If the site goes down, we know before your customers do.
- Form checks. A contact form that no longer sends anything is the most expensive and the most silent failure there is.
- Everyday security: HTTPS certificate, accounts and access, login attempts, plugins abandoned by their publisher.
- Performance, measured on mobile every quarter and corrected when it slips.
- Small changes: opening hours, a price, a photo, a colleague who joins or leaves.
- Renewal dates: domain name, certificate, licences. A domain that lapses by oversight takes the site and the email addresses offline on the same day.
Three levels of follow-up

Hosting
Hosting is quoted separately, between 10 and 50 € per month depending on traffic and the type of site. We can take care of it or work on the hosting you already have, if it is sound.
- Servers located in the European Union, to stay within the GDPR without special clauses.
- The domain name stays in your name. Never in the provider's, ours included.
- HTTPS certificate installed and renewed automatically.
- A separate staging environment for sites that change often.
Taking over a site we did not build
It is a frequent request. The original provider no longer answers, or the site was entrusted to a relative who has changed jobs. We start with a half-day audit: what is installed, what is out of date, who holds the access, where the backups are and whether any exist. You receive a written assessment and the level of follow-up that fits. If the site cannot be maintained under reasonable conditions, we tell you then, before any subscription.
What is not maintenance
A maintenance plan keeps the site in working order. It does not make it evolve. These requests are quoted separately, so that the plan stays readable and nobody pays for what they do not use.
- A new page of a kind that does not exist yet, or a new feature.
- A new language.
- Ongoing SEO work: content, links, rank tracking.
- A redesign, when the site has had its day.
If you stop
The site belongs to you, and so does the domain name. If you end the maintenance, you receive the access details, the latest full backup and, for a bespoke site, the source code. A maintenance contract you cannot leave is not a service, it is a hostage situation: check this point with every provider you consult, us included.

For a site under maintenance, we restore the last clean backup, close the hole that was used and change the access details. For a site taken over after an incident, the work is quoted after diagnosis, because the extent of the damage is only known then.
No, it is quoted separately because it depends on traffic and on the type of site. You can also keep your current host if it allows proper work: backups, secure access, recent software versions.
