The price of a website varies tenfold depending on scope, and nobody enjoys filling in a form just to get an order of magnitude. So here are the ranges we work with, what moves them, and the costs people usually forget to count.
What a site costs by type
| Project type | Budget | Timeline | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landing page | €1,500 – €3,000 | 2 to 3 weeks | A single page built for conversion, for an advertising campaign or a launch. |
| Brochure site | €3,000 – €6,000 | 3 to 5 weeks | Five to ten pages: business, offer, references, contact. The most common format for an SME. |
| Multilingual corporate site | €6,000 – €12,000 | 5 to 8 weeks | Ten to twenty-five pages, two or three languages, structured content, sometimes a press or careers section. |
| Headless / CMS site | €5,000 – €10,000 | 4 to 6 weeks | Content driven from a headless CMS, pre-rendered pages, structural multilingual support and live preview. |
| Custom build | €8,000 – €15,000 and above | 6 to 10 weeks | Specific features: booking, client area, connection to a business system, automation. |
| Online shop | €8,000 – €20,000 | 6 to 12 weeks | Catalogue, payment, delivery, order management, VAT and invoicing. |
| Redesign | €4,000 – €10,000 | 4 to 8 weeks | Taking over an existing site, new structure, redirect plan, content migration. |
What makes the price vary
- 01The number of genuinely different pages. Twenty pages built on three templates cost less than six pages that are all singular.
- 02The design. Adapting a proven base costs two to three times less than an art direction created from scratch, with custom animation and illustration.
- 03The content. If text and photos exist and are usable, the saving is real. Otherwise, budget for copywriting and visual production.
- 04The languages. Each additional language adds translation, proofreading, hreflang markup and maintenance for life. It is the most underestimated item in Luxembourg.
- 05The features. A contact form is standard. Booking with payment, a client area or a connection to a business system are another category.
- 06The integrations. CRM, invoicing, calendar, point of sale, marketing automation: every connection has to be designed, tested and maintained.
- 07The performance requirement. A site that is fast on mobile and on slow connections takes optimisation work that has a price.
Costs after go-live
A website is not a one-off purchase. Recurring costs are modest compared with the build, but they exist and belong in the budget from the start.
| Item | Order of magnitude | Note |
|---|---|---|
| .lu domain name | €30 – €60 / year | Billed by the registrar. Keep it in your own name, never the provider's. |
| Hosting | €10 – €50 / month | Depending on traffic and site type. Hosting in the European Union for GDPR. |
| Maintenance | €60 – €250 / month | Updates, backups, monitoring, fixes, small changes. See the three levels of follow-up. |
| Licences and modules | €0 – €500 / year | Depending on the technology: some components are paid, others are not. |
| Improvements | On request | A new page, a new feature, a campaign: quoted case by case. |
Over three years, these costs often represent 20 to 30% of the build. A €5,000 site therefore costs closer to €6,500 – €7,000 over the average lifetime of a website, which is three to five years.
Why a €1,000 site and a €10,000 site both exist
Both exist and both can be honest. At €1,000 you buy an adapted template, with no work on content or structure: defensible for a business starting out that mainly needs to exist online. At €10,000 you pay for design, copywriting, specific development and support. The trap is not the low price: it is the low price sold as if it included the rest.
- A quote that states neither the number of pages, nor the languages, nor the features is not a quote.
- An all-inclusive monthly fee with no exit clause locks you in: check who owns the site if you stop.
- A price that includes neither content, nor technical SEO, nor training will cost more at the second quote.
What our quote contains
- The list of pages and, for each one, what it contains.
- The languages included and how translation is handled.
- The features, with what is explicitly excluded.
- Who supplies copy and visuals, and what that changes in the price.
- The schedule, with the approval dates expected from you.
- Estimated recurring costs for the first year.
- Payment terms: deposit on order, balance at go-live.

A few lines about your business and what the site has to do are enough for a first range, with no commitment.

Below €1,500 you are buying a template installed with your text, with no work on structure or content. For a complete brochure site, written and optimised, the realistic entry point is around €3,000.
Technical SEO always is: structure, tags, structured data, performance, sitemap, Search Console. An ongoing visibility service (regular content, link building, monthly reporting) is budgeted separately.
No, it is not compulsory. You can pay for the build and then only carry hosting and the domain name. Monthly maintenance is an option, not a condition.
Count 20 to 40% of the build budget per additional language, depending on the volume of text. That covers translation, proofreading, integration and the markup of language versions.
A deposit on order, the balance at go-live. For long projects, an intermediate instalment falls when the mockups are approved.
A redesign is usually 20 to 30% cheaper than a new build, because the material exists. It does add specific work, though: an audit of the existing site and a redirect plan so the search visibility already earned is not lost.
